Osnon Academy is hiring a Vice Principal Academics.

Role: Vice Principal Academics, Osnon Academy
Location: Anambra State
Reports to: Head of School, Osnon Academy

Job Summary:
The Vice Principal Academics is responsible for overseeing the academic programs and policies
of the secondary school. This role involves providing leadership, guidance, and support to teachers,
students, and parents to ensure academic excellence and achievement.

Key Responsibilities:
– Academic Leadership:
Develop and implement academic plans and programs.
Provide guidance and support to department heads and teachers.
Monitor and evaluate students’ academic performance and progress.
Plan lesson periods and subject allocations.
– Curriculum Development:
Oversee the development, implementation, and review of curricula.
Ensure alignment with national and international standards.
– Teacher Support and Development:
Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities for teachers.
Carryout lesson observations and give feedback to teachers and Head of school.
Mark lesson plans and give feedback to teachers.
Evaluate teacher performance and provide feedback.
– Student Support and Guidance:
Oversee student academic support services, such as counselling and tutoring.
Plan competitions and expository activities for talented students.
Provide guidance and support to students with academic difficulties.
Regularly check students’ notes to ensure that teachers are marking and giving feedback.
– Parent and Community Engagement:
Communicate with parents and guardians about academic programs and policies.
Foster partnerships with local businesses, universities, and community organizations.
– Assessment and Evaluation:
Oversee the development and implementation of assessments and evaluations.
Analyze data to inform academic decisions and improvements.
Plan tests and examination timetables.
– External Examinations:
Engage examination bodies on registration processes.
Register the students for external examinations.
Conducting and running external examinations.
Sourcing and procuring all items needed for external examinations.

Role requirements:
Minimum of Masters degree in relevant field.
Minimum of 7 years teaching experience and at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial position.
Safeguarding and Child protection certification is an added advantage.
